Mount TAM
Rooted in a deep respect for the surrounding landscape and the natural beauty of Mount Tamalpais, this design takes its cues from what's already there. The wild grasses and rolling hills, the quiet architecture, and a client who is devoted to living among it all. A restrained, monochromatic palette echoes the mountain's own tonal range, so the line between indoors and out starts to blur. What grounds the space is what fills it: art, furniture, rugs, and textiles sourced from makers both down the road and across the world, each piece chosen for how it adds to the conversation within the space. The result is unhurried with a touch of wild at the edges, and always at ease with itself — nature, art, and design settling into the same calm register.

Paying further homage to the home’s surroundings, pieces were commissioned from a mix of local and international artists to bring a distinct sense of personality to the home.
Each was rooted in the terrain of the site, created in natural rapport with the surrounding landscape.
Blending the lines between interior and exterior with intentional landscaping inlets.
Nothing here is designed to compete with the view. A restrained, monochromatic palette echoes the mountain's own tonal range, so the line between indoors and out starts to blur. Natural light is abundant through floor-to-ceiling windows, transforming each space as the day shifts.
A kitchen fit to handle a four-course meal with ease, yet intentionally restrained to maintain a sense of calm, with most features hidden behind warm, mixed materials.
